Our Mission:

The U.S. Green Building Council’s (the USGBC) core purpose is to transform the way buildings and communities are designed, built and operated, enabling an environmentally and socially responsible, healthy, and prosperous environment. 

The Piedmont Triad NC Chapter aims to bring the green building movement to the Piedmont Triad Area of North Carolina by being a green building resource,advocate, and by educating the local population on the advantages of green building. 

We are currently an official Organizing Group of the USGBC

The counties that we cover are: 

Alamance, Caswell, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Guilford, Montgomery, Randolph, Rockingham, Stokes, Surry and Yadkin. 

Who we are:

We began as a group of professionals interested in bringing the green building movement to the Piedmont Triad Area in early 2006 under the banner of "Sustainable Triad". Over the past two years, we have grown substantially and found our niche in the community as a chapter of the USGBC. 

We have an informal membership list of over 200 individuals,companies and organizations, and our monthly lecture series attendance grows monthly. These are great networking events, so if you’ve not attended one then please do because we want to meet you! 

We have organized our active steering committee members into the following groups: Advocacy, Communications, Education, Residential,Emerging Green Builders and Finance & Membership. We are always looking for actively interested individuals to volunteer on the committees. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact the appropriate committee chair. 

We look forward to expanding our chapter so that we may share our collected knowledge of green building and to increase awareness of green building practices in the community. If you share our vision, please come and join us in spreading the word about green building!
